Boy Critically Injured After Being Hit By Car On Long Island

A boy suffered severe injuries in an overnight Long Island crash.

It happened around 9:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in North Amityville.

The 17-year-old was walking westbound across New Highway at the intersection of Pine Road when he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Prius traveling southbound, according to Suffolk County Police.

The boy, a resident of North Amityville, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with critical injuries. 

The driver of the Toyota, a 45-year-old Brentwood woman, was not injured. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information of the crash to contact the Suffolk County PD First Squad at 631-854-8152.
